52 weeks hiking
Introduction: I challenged myself in August 2022 to complete 52 hikes in a year, but I am ready with my excuses: office work, health, family health and most of all my 2 year old mood. So I told myself I will complete my 52 hikes just not in 52 weeks. Lesson learnt is to pick hikes that are kid friendly and interesting to keep my toddler engaged. In these series of hikes I will share my recommendation and experience of family friendly hikes in and around the bay area, to keep young minds entertained while enjoying outdoor adventures.

Golden State’s “Danish Village”- Solvang
A gem in California’s central coast with wine tasting rooms and Danish bakeries that creates a delightful tourist experience and feels like a world away. If you are looking for an experience full of fairy tales and small town, Solvang is the perfect destination.
We visited the town on the first weekend of February which gave us the perfect time to enjoy the sunshine. Although the town is always sunny but it get up to 100 degrees in the months of May-August so don’t forget to carry your sunscreen.

A relaxing weekend in Palm Springs!
Palm Springs is a perfect weekend spot to get away from chilly fall/winter winds in bay area. The weather is perfect to wear shorts and comfortable linen but not sweaty hot, sounds perfect right :). The average day temperature is 27 degrees and gets around 18 degrees at night.
The town resonates the theme of its name and covered with long beautiful palm trees stretched for miles. The resorts are all themed and amazing spot to relax and a good spa.
